Step 2: Get Printer IP Address
You will need to get the IP address of a printer in order to install it.
New Printers
Each printer shows the IP address on the screen at the bottom. IP addresses for Eagle are in the format of 10.199.__.__ and if you don't see the IP address right away, wait; it will appear on the screen.
The IP address in the image below is for room 420. Each room has its own address. Make sure you get the address for that room.
For the new library printer and new color printers, the IP addresses are at the top of the screen and follow the same format of 10.199.__.__ as with the other printers.
Old Printers
For other printers, see the IP addresses below:
Conference room Dell 3130cn: 10.199.4.39
Room 220 Lexmark T650: 10.199.1.22
When extra printers of the old model of the set up in the library, their IP addresses will be posted here and put on labels.
Step 3: Get to the Printer Installation Page
Follow these steps carefully and do not jump ahead.
1. Go to System Preferences and click on Printers & Scanners
2. Click on the IP button.
3. Make sure that Protocol is selected to Line Printer Daemon - LPD.
Step 4: Enter Printer Information
REMEMBER: THE IP ADDRESS AND PRINTER IN THIS ARE AN EXAMPLE FOR ROOM 420. EACH CLASSROOM IS UNIQUE!
1. Enter the printer's IP address where it says Address.
2. WAIT and the Location and Use boxes will automatically fill (red in the image below). Do not change the Location or Use boxes.
In the Name box (purple in the image below), enter whatever you want! It's best to name it the room number to distinguish it from other classrooms.
3. Click Add and happy printing!
